Jinan (27, 181 cm) played in front of his family.
Busan BNK Thumb’s Jinan scored six points and grabbed three rebounds against Iran in the 42nd William Jones Cup at Heping Gymnasium in Taipei, Taiwan on Friday. Although he had to leave the game midway through the third quarter with five fouls, it was his first official game in his homeland.
After the game, Chin said, “When my team was selected to play in the Jones Cup at the end of the 2022-2023 season, I immediately called my grandparents.바카라 I told them to get ready to watch me play and to bring their pocket money, and I’m glad they did,” he said after the game.
Taiwan is Chin’an’s homeland. He moved to South Korea to play basketball in high school and has been playing in the KBL since 2016. BNK said that Jinan’s fluency in Taiwanese has made it easier for them to fulfill their schedule.
BNK head coach Park Jung-jeong said, “Jinan has been a great help in terms of organizing the team’s schedule. The most important thing she helped us with was food. He recommended a lot of things to eat and drink, including snacks, so the other players didn’t have to struggle with eating in Taiwan.”
“When I retire, I can do something like this. I thought it wouldn’t be a bad idea to be a guide,” he laughed.
On the day of the tournament, BNK put on a dominant performance and defeated Iran 87-44. On June 6, they will play their second game at the same venue against the Taiwan B team, which is composed of Taiwan’s national team reserves.
“I don’t know if I’m satisfied. I hope we can do better in the future. It would be best to win it all, but most importantly, I hope to return to Korea uninjured and with a lot of experience.”
