Former South Korean defender Park Jae-hong has been named head coach of the K3 League’s Yangju Min Football Club.
The club officially announced the appointment of their new head coach on the 8th, saying, “Coach Park Jae-hong will join us on our journey in the second half of the season.”
Park made his professional debut with Jeonbuk Hyundai in 2003 and has also played for Jeonnam Dragons and Gyeongnam FC. He has made 159 appearances in the K League,메이저놀이터 including a season in the Romanian league in 2007, and has also played in the Chinese and Thai leagues.
He also has 31 caps for his country. He played in the 2000 and 2004 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cups and competed at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. He was a solidly built 184cm-83kg defender with a tenacious man-to-man defence.
After his retirement, he worked as a scout and coach for Bucheon FC 1995 in 2015. He also interacted with football fans as a member of the Earth Defence Force Army League.
Meanwhile, with Park at the helm, Yangju Citizens Football Club is 12th out of 15 teams in the K3 League this season with four wins, six draws, nine losses and 18 points. They are looking to rebound under Park’s leadership.
