On August 18 (KST), Polish scouting agency Jacek Kulik named Lee Seung-won as the “Football Talent of the Day” and introduced him to its 46.1 million social media subscribers.

Jacek Kulik is affiliated with football talent search organizations in Sweden, Spain, and Portugal. “Lee is a playmaker who moves around the field (instead of being static). He’s a similar type of player to Modric.”

Modric was honored as the 2018 FIFA World Cup Golden Ball (MVP), 2017-18 UEFA Player of the Year, 2018 FIFA World Player of the Year, 2018 Ballon d’Or and 2018 Association of International Sports Journalists (AIPS) Athlete of the Year.

Organized by France Football, the Ballon d’Or is soccer’s most prestigious individual award. Lee won the Bronze Ball (3rd MVP) at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup. He captained the national team and helped South Korea to a fourth-place finish with three goals and four assists in seven games.

Jacek Kulik said: “Lee scans the pitch for clues to give his team an advantage. “He is a versatile prospect with good mobility, passing, technique, activity, speed of thought, movement without the ball, agility, and set pieces.

At the U-20 World Cup 2023, Lee played in four different positions – defensive midfielder, central midfielder, attacking midfielder, and second striker – and averaged 82.3 minutes per game, with 1.09 attacking points per 90 minutes.
