A trio of freshmen have vowed to improve their skills in the new season.
After winning the V-League Women’s Championship in the 2022-2023 season, the team was faced with the departure of key players Park Jung-ah (Pepper Savings Bank) and Jung Dae-young (GS Caltex).
온라인카지노However, the organization is planning to fill the void with the addition of freshmen trio Ko Eui-jeong, Park Eun-ji, and Choi Ga-eun.
Outside hitter Ko Eui-jeong joined the team via trade on March 23.
“It’s my first time in Japan and my first time training overseas, but I’m having fun. In fact, I was a little worried because I had to find my rhythm as soon as I joined the team, but I think it’s good because I can adapt faster while playing,” she said.
She said she wants to fill in the gaps quickly.
“I still have a lot of mistakes,” Ko said. I need to know what I’m lacking quickly as I play,” he said, adding, “There are definitely things that coach (Kim Jong-min) wants. He gives me detailed feedback when I work out. He tells me a lot about blocking timing and attacking.”
“There’s a lot of pressure coming to a winning team, but it’s a chance to show more of myself,” Ko said, adding, “I’ve always thought of everything as an opportunity. When my sisters said, ‘We have two strong servers (Ko Eui-jeong and Park Eun-ji) on the team,’ I felt good,” she said, adding, “I want to be better in all aspects this season than I have been in other seasons.”
Setter Park Eun-ji also joined the team via trade along with Ko Eui-jung.
“I don’t usually get nervous,” said Park, who was considered for Rookie of the Year last year, “but from the middle of last season, I felt a lot of nerves and pressure, and I was actually worried when I joined the team. I thought, ‘Will I be able to do well?'” she confessed.
Park has been able to integrate into the team with the help of her teammates.
“I’m so grateful that they joked around with me like we’ve always known each other. “My teachers told me not to be shy, and my supervisor told me to be confident and relaxed,” she explained.
She dreams of a new start in road construction.
“I think I need to forget everything I’ve done so far and start with a clean slate,” Park said, adding, “In the end, you are the one who creates opportunities. I hope I can get better quickly and overcome it so that I can help (Lee) Yoon-jung a lot when she is having a hard time. When the coach uses me, I will make sure that she doesn’t hesitate.”
Middle blocker Choi Ga-eun joined Korea Express in May in a trade with Lee Ig-eun (Pepper Savings Bank).
“Honestly, I was embarrassed and confused at first, but when I finally joined the team, I was glad that the atmosphere was good and the training system was really well organized,” Choi said honestly.
“At Pepper Savings Bank, the pressure was a little less because we had younger players. But here, they are the winners of the previous season, and they have that kind of pride, so it’s true that there is more pressure.” “I was worried that the difference in skill would look bad, especially since I was supposed to be in (Jung) Dae-young’s place,” she said.
However, they were determined to show their skills.
“It’s something I have to do anyway, and I think it might be a better opportunity for me,” Choi said, adding, “I want to make sure that I show everything that I didn’t do well in the Cup (due to injury) in the season.”
