Kaoru Mitoma (Japan), who was embroiled in transfer rumors with leading clubs such as Manchester City, signed a new contract with his team, Brighton & Hove Albion of the English Professional Football Premier League (EPL).
Brighton announced on the 20th (local time)굿모닝토토that it had extended its partnership with Mitoma for four years through the club’s official channel.
Mitoma left Kawasaki Frontale in 2021 and joined Brighton. After his transfer, he went on loan to Belgium and began playing in the EPL wearing a Brighton uniform in the 2022-2023 season.
Mitoma immediately emerged as a key resource for Brighton. He played a total of 52 games, scoring 13 goals and 12 assists. He played a central role in Brighton’s attack not only with his records but also with his unique dribbling ability.
This season, he even added to his consistency by recording 3 goals and 3 assists. Accordingly, news recently came that big clubs such as Manchester City and FC Barcelona (Spain) are showing interest in Mitoma.
Despite being in a situation where he could go to a bigger club, Mitoma signed a new four-year contract with Brighton.
