KIA Tigers apologized in the name of general manager Shim Jae-hak for the controversy related to the Tiger Family High Five event.
먹튀검증KIA held the Tiger Family Festival, a fan appreciation event, at Gwangju-Kia Champions Field on October 28.
While a high-five event was held between the fans and the players, controversy arose as some players reportedly made inappropriate comments toward the fans.
On the 30th, the KIA club announced an apology in the name of general manager Shim Jae-hak through the club’s SNS.
Director Shim Jae-hak said, “Hello. This is Shim Jae-hak, general manager of the KIA Tigers professional baseball team. “I bow my head in apology to the fans who care for and love the KIA Tigers for the wrong words and actions of some players at the Tiger Family Festival held on October 28,” he said.
General Manager Shim continued, “We held a high-five event with the players and fans to express our gratitude to the fans who supported us this season, but during this process, several players made comments and actions that were inappropriate for a professional baseball player. KIA Tigers feels a heavy sense of responsibility for this matter and fully understands it. “We deeply reflect on this incident and will do our best to continue to provide ethics education to our players and create a culture that respects fans.”
Lastly, General Manager Shim apologized, saying, “Once again, I would like to sincerely apologize to the fans who support the KIA Tigers.”
