Liverpool are targeting Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Layan Ayet-Nuri.

“Liverpool have a strong interest in Wolverhampton Wanderers left-back Ayat-Nuri,” writes Alexis Bernard of French outlet Le Desportes.

The Algerian international is a left-back. At just 22 years old, he has already established himself in the team. He is a full-back with good physicality at 6’2″ and is very aggressive. He has good fundamentals and good footwork, which allows him to break down the flanks and create chances on his own, and his excellent kicking ability adds to the attack.

Grew up in Angers in the French Ligue 1. He made his senior debut in 2018-19 and made his presence felt in 2019-20 with three assists in 17 league games. In the 2020-21 season, Wolverhampton loaned him out to gain experience in the Premier League (PL).

It was a successful loan spell. Ait-Nouri scored one goal and one assist in 24 games, including cup competitions, and earned a passing grade. Wolverhampton then pushed for an outright purchase during the 2021-22 summer transfer window and spent €11.1 million to bring him to the club.

Ait-Nouri has since established himself as the club’s first-choice fullback. He added value as a ‘wing-back’ in the 2021-22 season, scoring one goal and providing six assists in 27 games, including cup competitions. After a somewhat disappointing 2022-23 campaign, he has once again established himself as a ‘key’ player, starting 14 games this season, including cup competitions. 보스토토 도메인

That’s why Liverpool are interested. The Reds are currently without first-choice left-back Andrew Robertson through injury. According to Premier Injuries, a source for PL injury news, Robertson’s return is not expected until January.

In Robertson’s absence, Konstantinos Zimikas is filling in. While he’s been a decent performer with two assists in 10 games, including cup competitions, it’s not enough to keep Liverpool fans 100% happy. Additionally, Ait-Nouri is now 22 years old. He could still be an ‘attractive’ option for Liverpool, even when considering his long-term future.
