Son Heung-min’s offside goal disallowed hat trick is in the spotlight.

Tottenham Hotspur suffered a 1-2 reverse in their 2023/24 Premier League (PL) Round 13 match against Aston Villa at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, England on April 26.

Spurs dropped to fifth place in the standings after losing all three games in a row against Chelsea, Wolverhampton, and Aston Villa.

Son Heung-min played the full game and was on the scoresheet. In the 13th minute, he headed home a cross from Brennan Johnson, but he fell over and his effort went wide. Then, in the 21st minute, he got his head on a perfect cross from Brian Hill, but couldn’t get a touch on it.

The heavens turned a blind eye to Son Heung-min’s struggles. Three times he had goals disallowed due to offside calls.

In the 44th minute, Son found Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg near the halfway line and quickly cut in front of the goal, sending his shot on a fantastic trajectory that split the net. However, the goal was disallowed when he was flagged offside on the penetration.

Son Heung-min rattled the Aston Villa net with a simple touch four minutes into the second half, but another goal was disallowed after Johnson was ruled to be in an offside position.

Son’s misfortune continued. In the 40th minute of the second half, he found the back of the net after being set up by Foro, but once again, the goal was disallowed for offside.

The English outlet Football London gave Son a rating of 6. Along with Hill and Johnson, he was the lowest rated player in the Tottenham squad.

“He didn’t do much besides have three goals disallowed for offside,” they wrote.

After the game, Son Heung-min said, “Of course, it hurts a lot when you think about the result. The players didn’t give up until the end and kept creating chances. I don’t think we deserved to lose,” he said, expressing his disappointment with the result. 보스토토 도메인

“I think it’s another step up the ladder. I think we can do better if we try to learn and work harder in this situation,” he said.

On the goal disallowed due to offside, he said, “I can’t help it. I think it happened because we didn’t prepare well enough. If I had been a little more diligent, I wouldn’t have been in this situation. I feel like I didn’t do enough to help, so I feel a little bit responsible.”
