The No. 1 soccer team in North America (U.S. and Canada) is set to target the Japanese market with Lionel Messi (36-Argentina), one of the greatest players of all time.
Japanese newspaper Sports Nippon reported on December 5 that “North American Major League Soccer (MLS) team Inter Miami has been confirmed to play a friendly match at Tokyo National Stadium (capacity 68,698) in February 2024.”
Inter Miami emerged as the most interested club in North American Major League Soccer when they acquired Lionel Messi from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in July 2023.
The presence of Inter Miami owner David Beckham (48-England), the most commercially valuable superstar of all time, is also creating a synergistic effect not only in North America but globally after the signing of Lionel Messi.
“Inter Miami’s Japanese tour opponent is not this season’s J1 League champion Vissel Kobe or its home team, FC Tokyo, but a local soccer team with the same ties,” Sports Nippon said, citing at least two sources who requested anonymity.
The Japanese tour organizers are reportedly demanding that Inter Miami bring not only Lionel Messi to Tokyo, but also the Spanish duo of defender Jordi Alba, 34, and midfielder Sergio Busquets, 35, and owner David Beckham.
In the UEFA Champions League, the world’s premier club competition, Jordi Alba was the 2018-19 assist king and Sergio Busquets was a 2014-15 all-star.
“With the addition of Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets and Lionel Messi, Inter Miami has become a force to be reckoned with in North American Major League Soccer, not only in terms of buzz but also in terms of quality,” said Sportsnet. 헤라카지노
“Whenever David Beckham came to Japan as a player, the response was so intense that it could be described as a craze,” said Sports Nippon, which recalled the past, “and thanks to Inter Miami’s Tokyo tour, the atmosphere in Japanese soccer is likely to heat up early in the new year.”
