The Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly close to signing Hwang Hee-chan, 27, who has been an ace for the team this season.
“Wolverhampton Wanderers have agreed a new deal with Hwang Hee-chan,” Fabrizio Romano, a journalist familiar with European soccer news, announced on his personal social media account on Wednesday (June 13). Romano reported that Hwang’s new contract with the club runs until June 2028. It reportedly includes an option to extend.
On June 6, Hwang scored the winning goal against Wolverhampton and Burnley in the 15th round of the 2023-2024 Premier League season. It was Hwang’s eighth goal in the league and ninth of the season. He now has eight goals and two assists in the league and one in the League Cup this season. He has already reached double-digit attacking points in the Premier League.
In October, Hwang became the first player since John Richards in 1972-1973 to score in six consecutive home games for Wolverhampton. Starting with the final home game of last season against Everton, he continued to find the back of the net at home against Brighton & Hove Albion, Newcastle United, Liverpool, Manchester City, Aston Villa, and Newcastle.
Wolverhampton have now offered Hwang a new contract. “The new contract will put him on the same level as the club’s highest-paid players,” Romano said, adding that it was a “huge move by Wolverhampton.” The club wants to keep hold of Hwang, who is a proven goal scorer.
Hwang joined Wolverhampton on loan in August 2021 from Leipzig in Germany and exceeded expectations, earning a permanent move early the following year. Although he had a disappointing time with muscle injuries, his career at Wolverhampton went upwards. And this season, he’s at the peak of his powers with a ‘career high’. 헤라카지노
With 12 league games under his belt, Hwang has become Wolverhampton’s top scorer this season and is tied for fifth in the Premier League scoring charts, just two goals behind third-placed Son Heung-min (10).
